Meet Omar Zeenni
At 15, Omar signed with the LA Galaxy Academy. For the next two years, he would learn from the games' top coaches and play alongside world class players such as future US National Team star, Gyasi Zardes. After his two seasons with the club, Omar would commit to Division 1 side UC Davis of the Big West Conference. Over the next 4 seasons, Omar would start and play all but 10 games. In his Senior season, Omar was named to 1st Team All-Conference and the Big West Conference Goalkeeper of the Year. In the same year, he claimed the school records in Shutouts (18) and Saves (262).
Post college, Omar began his professional preparations but would suffer a torn ACL in his right knee. The injury was the start of his transition into coaching, and as a Graduate Assistant at his Alma Mater, he quickly fell in love with the process of breaking down film and designing training regimens for his goalkeepers. Not too long after, he started Pro GK Academy. It started as merely a social media channel where Omar would post solo drills for coaches and players to incorporate into their sessions. However, with the help of his close friend Armando Quezada, Omar has been able to turn a once 'small page' into the biggest goalkeeper school on social media. Omar has used his platform to help young goalkeepers in the Greater Los Angeles area while also continuing to post content through Pro Gk's Instagram and YouTube channels. His goal is to make Pro GK the gold-standard of goalkeeping and the trusted source for coaches and players to further their knowledge on the position.
